Here at Floor Design, we have great selection of Laminate products to inspire your next design project. Whether you are looking for a traditional effect or something with a modern twist, we have an array of colours, textures and plank sizes to suit any situation.
What is Laminate Flooring?
Laminate flooring construction usually consists of 4 layers. A base layer on the bottom protects from additional moisture and swelling after which a High-Density Fiberboard (HDF) is added as the main core. The top of the HDF core is finished with the design image papered on and then laminated. The boards are then cut down to the desired plank size and machined to add the click system. Higher quality boards will often also feature embossed textures to emphasise features like woodgrain patterns and knots. The end result is a floor that is extremely durable, offers flexible fitting and has infinite possibilities in terms of design.
Why choose Laminate Flooring?
Laminate flooring offers a beautiful finish with minimal fuss. Laminate can be fitted in a wide range of scenarios and is durable enough to deal with heavy traffic and hustle and bustle of every day life. Laminate flooring offers excellent resistance to stains and scratches and in some cases, even offer a level of water resistance. Laminate can also be used in conjunction with some underfloor heating systems.
