Our excellent Amtico fitters are always in high demand and have recently completed an intricate hallway design for our clients in Wetherby.
We created this statement hallway in our client's period property using the Amtico Signature range. The advantage of this range is that the colours and tile sizes are interchangeable, allowing us to create the exact look and feel that our client imagined in a pattern that is proportional and suited to her specific property.
The key to a perfect job is first the correct preparation. Existing layers of flooring were removed to get down to the concrete sub-floor. Our team then used a grinder to remove contaminants, and as this period property was build without a damp proof membrane an epoxy surface damp proof membrane was applied to stop moisture rising from the ground and damaging the new tiles.
A latex smoothing compound was then applied to get a perfectly smooth surface prior to the laying out and cutting of the intricate vinyl tile design. Each piece being a separate tile and requiring individual placement.
The end result was a truly bespoke floor that perfectly suited the character of our client's period home.
